    Looking to purchase a car using the car company's financing package. Have seen a car up the country. Can finance be set up on the day and theoretically can i drive home in a new car? What do I need to bring to the garage with me? Thanks for any advice

    Is this a used car?
    Is the car actually ready to go, serviced etc?
    You'd usually need proof of address and ID, and payslips.
    You'll need to have insurance arranged too.

    Don't know if any places do approval on a Saturday, it was tricky back in the day, don't know about now.

    Look at other possible options like credit union or general purpose bank loan as these are a lot less resrictive than hire purchase,

    Yes a used car. Need car asap for work. Have no savings record with credit union and have just taken out home improvement loan with bank so think this may be my only option...

    Would you also need to show bank statements? For how many months? May need to order copies of them from bank...

    Why not just ring the garage and ask them what documents you need to bring with you to apply for their finance?

    I know you said you need a car urgently but I wouldn't rush it for the sake of it. Don't forget to focus on the car you are buying too.
