Corruption(tech) in Three or coincidence?

My husband's phone has crashed twice in past few weeks, and is now irreparable . Apparently Three said there was a software issue. Now my au pair has an issue with her Three sim- suddenly won't register in the phone. My daughter 's best pal was also with Three (apple- other 2 phones were android) and her phone "got a virus" according to my daughter and is now unusable.

IS it mere coincidence, or could there be something affecting certain apps, something from Three...not quite sure what I am asking here, as am total technophone.:D

There were some dodgy apks for Pokemon Go (then again there are always dodgy apks). Did they use anything not from the play store?

I'm with meteor but from what you've described there's no sign of a conspiracy on 3's part. Here's my 2 cents for what it's worth...

    1. You husband's phone could be a hardware or software issue, Impossible to tell without more detail. Either way hardly 3's fault

    2. Sounds like your au-pair just has a dodgy sim. Just ask 3 for a replacement sim. I'm not with 3 but I've never had to pay my provider for a replacement sim.

    3. Most phones that get a virus are fine once you do a factory reset. You can't really blame 3 if your daughter's pal likes to install dodgy software or visit questionable web sites

9 is a 6 upside down. 666 is the number of the beast. No further comment required.

Turn the 666 upside down and you get 999. Bloody hell, the Gardaí are in on it too!

People like the OP are the reason I no longer work in retail (technology). What an utterly stupid assertion.

If you divide 999 by 333

    ....you get 3

    Coincidence?

    I think not.

Hauld on a minute...you're a phone? How are you posting here? Have you gone autonomous? Are Three producing some kind of virus that gives phones artificial intelligence? I feckin' knew we shouldn't trust that Siri stuff.

Somebody needs to call Mulder & Scully about this, pronto.

    Not on a phone though...

A phone that's into techno music as well.
A sign of true Artificial Intelligence.
    I wish I was a technophone.

Smart phones are basically fulling fledged PCs at this stage. They're complicated machines with a simplistic interface that hides most of the complexity away fromt the user meaning the user is completely clueless when anything goes wrong.

One thing I have found with most mobile providers is there customer service is beyond terrible. They've been gradually eroding their service down to nothing to entice us into a contract and they don't care after that.

I've found with Eir mobile and their fixed monthly charges is that once they've got you signed up paying a set €50 a month it doesn't matter if your phone actually works. They're getting their money either way. At least when you're paying for calls, if your phone stops working, they stop getting paid.

So I'll be avoiding those kind of arrangements in the future. I'll pay for what I use from now on.

The husband/au pair affair is the only reasonable explanation.

I suppose not on counts 1 and 3, on Point 2, it appears the sim reader is broken. I guess I was just wondering if a virus/bug/trojan horse (something!) had wormed it's way into the phone via an app they might all have in common. Au pair only arrived in ireland and has only downloaded Dublin Bus app that I know of. ie what if that app/site was hacked for example and others were having issues but noone knew the root cause.
I suppose that is what I was asking. I realise that it's probably a stupid question, but was wondering had anyone the same experience recently, or was it mere coincidence .
    Mere coincidence- answers own question.
I can't see the wood for the Threes :pac:

    It is indeed.
And three trees would not be even a wood but would be a copse.

An age old philosophical conundrum asks if a smart mobile phone becomes bricked in a forest and no one is there to seek an upgrade then will the aul fella get the au pair duffed?

    In the English Alphabet t=20 h=8 r=19 e=5 e=5

    The target is 666

    Let's play countdown

    Let's play countdown

    (20+8)*(19+5)-5 = 667

Just as well - think if i get it exact the devil will appear.
