Considering a heating controls upgrade but I would appreciate if someone could explain what it will achieve. Current system is oil boiler and boiler stove to small copper tank. Immersion for summer hot water. We can turn the heating off upstairs by closing a valve and that's it as it stands. Can't heat hot water with oil unless rads are on too.

Decent heating controls can give you precise control over your heating/hot water system allowing you to have a room/hot water temperature that suits your needs reducing fuel waste by preventing over heating of your home or having it running when your not there.
