Hi, I'm considering getting a log cabin but the timber is not pressure treated except for the bearing timbers. Can anyone who might have got one tell me if there is any issues after you treat the outside timbers with reputable treatment. Thanks in advance

I have one here as an office on a windy hillside since 2007, I am just re-treating the exterior with Sikkens.

I seem to get about four years between treatments, I think it's the sunlight that does the damage.

Other than that the only issue is the heat loss in winter.

I was looking at the Aluminium roof and all i could imagine is the noise of the rain pelting off it.
