    It doesn't say what type or make of slate in the planning only that it's a slate.

    Then maybe you should check with the local council. They usually have certain preferences for different areas of the Country.

    Neither of them, unless you are rich enough to change your roof every 15 / 20 years...
    Check the natural slates, you'll be quiet for 50 years at least, if they are good ones and properly fit...
    You'll have a proper stone roof then, not a " plastic " one... :rolleyes:

    Tegral have had their problems. However they have seriously uped their game recently. They offer instalation training to roofers weekly in their roofing academy and have product specialists available on the phone. Another slate manufacturer that makes a quality is condlon concrete in Offally.
    Natural slates are extremely expensive and may have a long lead time. As with any natural product the quality can vary depending on the amount of iron or other minerals in the quarry.
