    Hi all,

If one needs private tax on a crewcab pickup, is it assessed by CC or CO2?

For example the new Nissan Navara crewcab gets 167 g/km meaning €570 per year, but if the tax is bases on engine size, then the 2298cc engine incurs a €994 motor tax rate.

Only VRT Category A vehicles (or EU type M1 vehicles) can be taxed based on CO2.

    Whether crewcab can be a category A or M1 vehicles - I don't know.
But to be taxed commercially as crewcab, it couldn't be - so if it was already taxed as commercial, then you won't be able to tax it based on CO2 without amending vehicle type (which would most likely incur extra VRT).

Cc, that's the way vans are anyway. Full co2 VRT probably wasn't paid either way so it isn't a car as such.
