What'd you normally wear on a day to day basis?

Just occurred to me that I'd normally have shoes/trousers/shirt on when a mate of mine asked if I always dressed like I was going to work.
I don't like jeans and find most runners uncomfortable (which also rules out tracksuits) so this is the closest outfit I have to something I can get around in very comfortably.

So what's your day to day wear?

Shirt, knee length shorts and a pair of thongs.

Usually a dress, tights and flats. Occasionally skinny jeans and a nice top.

Usually I get quite dressed up every day. I love pretty dresses and nice shoes and always wear make-up, even when I'm unwell. If I'm dressing down a bit, maybe skinny jeans and heels and a nice top.

If I'm at home though I'll mostly slob around in PJs and socks ... however spending so much time in hospital, there are always hot doctors around, don't like to let my standards slip! :pac:

Usually skinny jeans, boots and a top or a hoodie.

In the summer, I'd usually wear maxi dresses or dresses over leggings and then sandals but my summer clothes are all going to waste with this miserable weather :(

Designer jeans, golfer branded polos, Ralph Lauren socks, tennis player branded boxers and Clark's shoes.

And I'm probably the only one whose answered this seriously! :D

Usually some kind of contrasting get-up. So today a cream lace skirt, black tights, black ankle boots with a silver buckle, green top, black cardi, blue scarf. Tomorrow I'll throw on a pair of yoga pants, converse and t-shirt.
On the weekend a dress will make an appearance.

In the evenings I like jammies or over sized tshirts and snuggly socks for my little cold feet.
I have a drawer filled with skinny jeans from when I was a size 6-8. Every now and then I take out a pair to use as motivation. Then I'm like "nah I want chippies" so back in the drawer they go.

Usually a dress and maybe a cardigan or shrug. I don't like flats, but don't like heels either, so I usally wear shoes with a bit of a wedge.
Or jeans and top, depending on the weather.

That would be for work or around the house, I don't own tracksuits and find them generally awful.

Jeans, t-shirt and runners, but usually skate/surf brands with calvin or ralph loren underwear, never mainstream junk like nike etc. And i'd rather go naked than wear a tracksuit

Shirt and pants for work, jeans and a polo shirt/jumper on weekends.
At home it's always shorts, always!

Jeans and a T-shirt. About as formal as I get really.

    A wizard hat.

Skinny jeans (I don't own a pair of trousers) and a nice top and cardi or hoodie, Converse trainers or flat ballet pumps or loafer type pumps. If it's warm and sunny, a maxi dress and sandals. I dress a lot more casually than I used to but still like to wear some jewelry to add interest to a fairly boring canvas!

Suit with smart shirt, nice shoes for work.

Outside of work, casual shirts, jeans, chinos, nice boots or trainers....

Dark Canali suit, crisp white shirt, tie, Santoni oxford shoes.

Clean lines, timeless look, minimum of fuss when deciding what to wear.

Work - Shorts, shirt, sandals, fleece if it dips below 15c.
Out-of-work - Shorts, shirt, sandals, fleece if it dips below 15c.

Same as Aongus, but instead of a dark Canali suit, I wear jeans. And instead of a crisp white shirt, I prefer an un-ironed t-shirt and a hoodie.

I refuse to wear a tie under any circumstances.

Pretty casual attire mostly, skinny jeans and nice tops / shirts, with boots or sandals / converse type runners. Or I have a few little dresses that I can dress up or down depending on the occasion. If I am venturing out in heels they are mostly wedges as I can't do heels that well (weak ankles!!)

I love colours - purple, orange green and blue are my favourites :)

When I went back to work after my last maternity leave stint I actually bought 'work' clothes ... Ugh. And it turned out that it got really casual in there while I was gone and everyone was in jeans and hoodies  I still wear them though as then at least the rest of my wardrobe is saved for outside work :)

An enormous pair of fake boobs.

    Nothing more than my skin.

And when I say my skin, I mean the skin of those I have captured, killed and flayed. 'Cause if I put in all that work, I'm surely entitled to claim ownership?

For work I usually wear black chinos with steel toe shoes and a hoodie or t shirt, and a high vis vest. I wear the same in the evenings and weekends, minus the high vis vest and steel toe shoes. Outside of work I always wear runners.

On meeting days I wear a pants/skirt suit and white shirt or dress and jacket and 2 inch heels max. On non-meeting days I wear 7 or Levi jeans and a t-shirt or shirt and Cons or sandals. Going out is usually a dress and strappy shoes or sandals with low or no heels.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,031 ✭✭✭we'llallhavetea

if the sun is shining i usually try and get the legs out in a dress but that bitch is never shining so its skinny jeans, some sort of a top with plimsolls. i dot do heels, lanky enough and sensible enough not to suffer the bastards! they're so purty though.

Work - Black shirt, black jeans, black steel toecap boots.
Outside of work - Black shirt, black jeans, black steel toecap boots.

Same as when I went on holidays to Iceland...and the United Arab Emirates.

Same boat for me, outside work, I used to usually wear jeans runners and t-shrts until I got used to wearing shoes/trousers/shirts, at first I didn't like them, now find that far more comfortable, and I don't look like a scruffbag anymore. I now find jeans very heavy and uncomfortable.

Depends, I wear a uniform for work so I'm mostly in that.
Days off I always get dressed up even if I'm not going anywhere particularly exciting.
Mostly dresses, but sometimes skirts, nice tops. I always wear heels. Can't wait til autumn then it'll be back into over the knee boots, shirt dresses, jumper dresses etc. This summer I wear denim dresses with my adidas superstars a lot.

If I have to dress casual then I like boyfriend style jeans, not a mad fan of skinny jeans. They don't suit me. I like 3/4 length pants, not full length. Few pairs of wedged runners too.

My being lazy clothes is mostly cartoon. Most of my underwear are novelty. Garfield, barbie, Minnie Mouse, bambi, there's always someone like that on my knickers. Wear lots of Disney tshirts. Love Minnie
Mouse. Wouldn't wear them outside the house though. Most of my pjs would be Disney too.

I own one hoodie that's not even mine anyway, and one or two pairs of cotton tracksuit bottoms. I wear them hungover. But would rather die than let someone see me in a hoodie

Not very exciting, but I love getting dressed up and would rather be overdressed than underdressed

Jeans, hoodies, sweaters. I like stuff that zips all the way up the front rather than stuff you have to pull over your head.

    Polo shirts rather than t-shirts.

Dress, tights and flats. A cardigan over the dress if the weather calls for it. Most days I'm far too lazy for anything else. :o

T-shirt, yoga pants, flip-flops or Converse. Comfort mode.

Running clothes versus dress shirt, tie (and tie clip), trousers maybe a vest too. Very dapper. :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,681 ✭✭✭bodice ripper

Black boot cut jeans, black band tshirt, runners, optional bandana if I need my hair out of my face. For decades.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,544 ✭✭✭Samaris

At the moment, jeans and sweater for work, or blouse if I'm going to be doing more admin-ny paperwork-y stuff than practical. I have a number of long "gypsy" skirts is probably the best way to describe them (apparently I used to be recognisable around my college campus by my demented skirts) that I'll wear on non-work days. Although even on non-work days recently, I've stuck with the auld jeans and jumper.

Highest heels I can manage is a couple of inches with a good wide base. Some women can manage the spiky ones and I am in awe of their ankle-strength :D I stick with my boots!

At work a pair of slacks and a shirt. I go mad in summer time and wear short sleaved shirts.
At the weekends generally it would be a pair of jeans and a polo shirt. But it would vary a lot. Always wear a pair of Vans at the weekend though...no compromise on that.
