Gents would anyone know where in Dublin I could get a 50" regular fit suit jacket for a reasonable price, I'm a very broad shortáss and need a jacket for a wedding but funds are very low at the moment

Is Mr. Big and Tall in Goatstown still trading?

There is a Big and Tall type shop on the first floor in Stephen's Green Shopping Centre, Dublin which might have something in your size. My boyfriend is the same size and he bought a 3 piece suit recently in the Clery's/Best Menswear clearance shop on Parnell Street. They will be continuing trade as an outlet for Best so there will be new stock coming in all the time. To be honest it was just luck we got that as he'd been trying on all of the 48" ones up to that which were no good. A few shops said they can order in the 50" jackets but don't stock them. M&S and Best Menswear (regular shop) are the only two I can remember off the top of my head.

I actually find most shops only stock up to 46" which is frankly ridiculous, this is not Japan - a quick stroll in Dublin city centre or a visit to the local gym will show there are plenty of guys who'd only fit an arm in these jackets.

I have a slightly different issue than you OP, even when I occasionally find something fitting (the rare 48", most of the times 50"), often the sleeves are short. Anyway, a while ago I managed to find a properly fitting jacked in Danbenhams and, if I recall correctly, wan't even insanely expensive, around the 150 Euro marker or whereabouts (maybe 175, not sure).
