Cilento in first in Dundalk has 20 pounds in hand of most runners in the race and yet is drifting like a barge. Strange. Thought it would be evens or odds on.

There's a fair old gamble on Super Bowl in the 6.50 at Killarney for WP Mullins. Had a look on pp last night and he was 7/1. He's into 3/1 now but there's no value in that price.

Had a light fancy for a few today at Dundalk. Wasn't overly pushed, but because they were 16 or more runner fields paying 4 places there was some decent prices. Waited till about 11AM and no NRs confirmed, so put a few bets on.
All 3 of the races that were paying 4 places have had just enough NRs to bring them below the 16 and been cut to 3 places.
This practice has been repeated in multiple races over most meetings in Ireland over the last few weeks. Sick to me tits of it.

There was never going to be 16 runners in those races.

The reserves were priced up and the bookies incorrectly quoted 4 places.

14 is the maximum that can run at Dundalk

    8.30 Wor Goal @ 20/1.
1st time running at the track. Slipping down the weights. Fancy this to be there at the business end of the race.

Most races that are flat do not pay first 4 anyway even with 16 runners

    Really? Christ I'm a mug.

Oddschecker were showing 4 places for 3 of the races this morning with multiple bookmakers. Surely that in itself is not on....even if it did only fool the suckers:pac:

Its an easy mistake to make
However for safety reasons a maximum of 14 run at Dundalk in any race.
Often the races are priced up with reserves listed ( so maybe 16/17 runners) and the sites like ATR and Oddschecker list the bookies as paying first 4.
I think this is a computer error ( computer sees 16 runners listed in a handicap and automatically says pay 4 places) but in Dundalk this is always reduced to 14 no matter what.
Same as if a handicap at any track had 16 runners ( bookies would offer 4 places) but any withdrawls would lead to only 3 places being paid.
