Did they mix it up for booze?

It would be the first €2 shop I know that holds a licence to sell alcohol.

Some shops ID for energy drinks as a store policy because of the whole "kids shouldn't have energy drinks" thing

Doesn't Red Bull makes kids go barmy and wreak havoc upon good citizens?

Genuinely thought thread was about a corporate takeover involving the software company ID.

Seen this happen in euro store in Rathmines too, kids looked about 15 and before they approached the counter they were told they would need to be 18 and have ID.

That was a bit of a mouthful, they went with "gives you wings" in the end.

Energy drinks are arguably more damaging to human health than a bottle of beer.

A small bottle of BPM contains 86 grams of sugar

Caffeine. A lot of these "energy" drinks are full of it. Kids wouldn't even be aware of that, because of how they are sneakily marketed.

I saw a medical related article that claimed that 50mg of caffeine in one day could poison a six year old.

These cans contain about 160mg caffeine per 500ml can.

A few of these could be highly toxic to someone with underlying health issues. Epilepsy springs to mind.

Genuinely thought thread was about a corporate takeover involving the software company ID.

They write it all lowercase (so it's "id Software") and it's a reference to the psychological concept of the "id" (one word), not an abbreviation for "identification".

All of it? Not quite bad as say drinking fruit juice (as you'll have a wee bit of pulpy material left), but a smoothie that's thick in sugar, well you may as well neck a can of Coke.

I understand that. To be honest, it was so eyewateringly unlikely to be the case, spelling was the least of the problems with it.
