    Hi All,

Am heading to Spain with the family (2 adults, 1 child (12)) with Ryanair next Saturday, flight departs 07.20. I am not a frequent traveler so looking to assess whats the latest time I need to arrive.

I have booked parking in Quickpark, fastrack for security and priority boarding.

I have planned for 1 checked bag but I believe I can possibly drop that the night before if worth doing?

For those with experience let me know what you think.

    Thanks!

Check-in normally closes 40 minutes before departure

Just be at the safe side, be there 90 minutes before departure time, you have nothing to loose

I would aim to be at car park at 5am

I would aim to be walking in the door of the airport at 6am. So I'd try to arrive at the car park at 5.40.
That should give you loads of time.
    Have a nice holiday

Yes you can drop the bag in the night before, usually it's 8pm to 10pm, they will send you an email about it a few days before departure.

If the bags checked in the night before getting to the carpark for six should be fine. If it's not checked in aim to get there for five

Can you avoid the checked bag? You can bring 6 pieces of baggage, it's a sun holiday, not a skiing one and just buy your toiletries and sun creams over there. Ryanair are charging you 50/70€ for that bag.

Paid for it this time around as we didn't have smaller bags to bring. Will look into that for the future.

Are the queues really that long for checking in a bag? I always give myself 2 hours and relax before the flight but 90 minutes should be fine.

I'm all for the idea of using a small piece of luggage and bringing a handbag/backpack and getting laundry done over there if needs be.

Not in my experience. When I fly on Ryanair, I have to go to the visa check desk, as I generally fly on my US passport. The visa check desk is beside the bag drop off one. I take a lot of the 6.30/7am flights and I've never seen big crowds at either desk.

I'm the opposite love checking in my bags and having no carry on luggage with the exception of kids packpacks
No messing at security with liquids just bung everything in the case

    Thanks for all the advice

Arrived at the airport at 06.05, headed straight to fast track, no queue, took about 5-10mins to get through security. Headed to duty free for some last minute items, then the missus grabbed a Starbucks. A brisk walk to the gate and we were there for 6.45. Gate was listed as closing at 6.50 on the booking. We hung around for 10mins or so and then they started boarding.

So worked out perfectly and dropping the bag the evening before made life so much easier.

It can be so easy with a bit of advance prep! Happy holiday op!
