I'm just wondering if anybody would like to give me any tips or ideas for a nice restaurant for lunch tomorrow afternoon? Ideally around the City Centre, somewhere. Not Celtic Tiger Crazy expensive but not too shabby either.

€20 - €25 a head. I haven't ate out for ages so not sure of prices, especially in Dublin. Its a date with a woman.

The winding stair just opposite the halfpenny bridge is supposed to be nice, my boss is always raving about it.
Is this during the week or at the weekend? a lot of places at the weekend do brunch style menus and for some you need to book as they are very popular e.g San lorenzos on Georges street and White friar grill on Aungier street are two I've always had to book in advance. They do nice food and there's always a good buzz in their restaurants. Sophie's on harcourt street is lovely it's a rooftop restaurant in the dean hotel. Pigs ear on Nassau street have a nice lunch menu, I haven't been there in over a year but the last time I was there the food was good.

There's loads of cafes restaurants in the city centre it depends on the what kind of food and ambience you want.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'd like for somewhere nice and and not too loud as this is a first date. I don't want to splurge too much to give the wrong impression either.

Ended up in Carlo's on O'Connell street http://www.cafecarlo.net/, the date went good, I couldn't rate the food as I suffer with chronic Nasal congestion and my sense of taste is running about 5% and I have no sense of smell thanks to hayfever. My date was happy so that was ok for me. Price-wise it was better than some of the Restaurants I'm used to here in Kerry.
