Satellite dish in valley of roof

    Hi,

    I am getting a dish installed -- its a listed building

    the installer suggested the valley of roof

    said its common enough

    I checked google earth view and don't see any

    anyone done this ?

    also would this damage roof?

    any advice appreciated

    Unlike conventional aerials, satellite dishes do not need to be high up provided it has a clear view of the part of the sky where the satellite is located. Enter your address in this site and select '28.2 Astra 2' as the satellite to see which direction it needs. It may be possible to locate in a yard or whatever.
    I have seen dishes located in roof valleys before but don't know what kind of mounts were used so don't know what risk there is to the roof.

    Non pen mount with blocks, if roof structure is ok.
    common enough for LOS issues.
