Gas BBQ regulator problem

    Hi guys,

I am probably doing something very silly but recently bought gas BBQ and the regulator that came with the BBQ doesn't seem to attach to the butane gas bottle I purchased.

Some pics of both the regulator (which I believe is a butane connection) and bottle attached, it feels like the connection is too shallow (for want of a better word) to make the connection press down the centre of the gas bottle to release the gas. When trying to connect - I don't hear any kind of click sound signifying it has been connected.

I'm a complete novice however, so it could be the wrong regulator etc.. any help welcome

    Hi.

Cant see the attachments. I had the same problem, bought a BBQ from LIDL.
There regulators don't work with Iris bottles, had to get a new one.

You could have a propane regulator.

There are only two types as far as I know It will either fit the Grey Bottle or the Grey Bottle most places stock both. You have an option to change the Regulator or the Shop may exchange the cylinder but its unlikely as the seal is broken.

    Apologies, pics attached this time.
So the yellow bottle is not suitable? Got the BBQ and gas as a house warming - assume they got it in the same place but maybe nothe have been the case and wrong gas?

    That's a propane connection.
You can go into a hardware store and get a butane connector for the yellow bottle.

Cheers for all the help. Handy enough you fit I assume? - or less hassle to just go and get a propane tank?

It's real easy to replace just screw off a clip and replace the regulator.

I had the exact same problem.

I bought a regulator to fit the yellow gas bottle. Easily switched.
