Flywheel

I'm looking at having to replace the flywheel in my car in the next few months.
It's a 2008 1.9 tdi Seat Leon. Currently there's a bit of a rattle from the car in low gears so it's not too noticeable yet, but I've been told it's advisable to get it done sooner rather than later.
From a bit of reading it looks like this would be an expensive job so I need to save up over the next few weeks!
I am wondering what the danger is in not getting it replaced? Will the vibrations just get worse, or will it cause actual damage?
Also, given the mileage of the car (120k miles) am I better off getting clutch and flywheel done at the same time?

This one is a no brainer. You should do the clutch because you are already paying labour to remove and reinstall a clutch. The only difference is the extra cost for the part.

Clutch and flywheel should be done at the same time as you are removing the clutch and gearbox to get to the flywheel anyway so it saves you money in the long term. Clutch and flywheel parts together are available as a kit too.
