Tayto Cheese and Onion, there is no better crisp for a sandwich. Has anyone ever made a crisp sandwich with a different flavour?

Damn you, Now am dying for a crisp sandwich.

Fresh soft Brennans bread, real butter, Tayto or King are fine, squashed down to break the crisps down, can of coke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,805 ✭✭✭Badly Drunk Boy

Crisp sandwiches are overrated. If the crisps are nice enough, you don't want to lessen the taste by putting them on bread.

Ha ha ha sorry. I can't eat cheese and onion (gives me awful heart burn) but salt and vinegar. Yum!!!

Hunky Dorys or Waffles. Grated cheddar and smoked ham too if you want a really good sandwich. Not a Tayto fan.

Brennan's bread is absolute muck. Bread should not be soft for a week,

Yeah, but a bag of crisps is a snack.

A crisp sandwich is a healthy meal.

King are great. Difficult to find the salt and vinegar ones though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,865 ✭✭✭✭AndyBoBandy

The only Tayto crisps worth eating are Salt N Vinegar.

for Cheese & Onion, it's only King or Hunky Dorys (and yes, both are equally awesome in a crisp sandwich*)

    *bonus for using Batch Bread

Hate crisp sandwiches. Don't know how they're seemingly so popular.

I have a sandwich, then I have the crisps. Ne'er the twain shall meet.

I'll tell you one thing, the person who voted for Walkers had better be a ford'ner. Or have hit the button by mistake when their fingers slipped due to being greasy from eating proper crisps.

Walkers FFS! Not on my watch...

Tayto cheese and onion, butter and I don't care what bread, as long as it's white.

    I am a bread discriminator

Hunky Dorys are the same company as well,

    all made by Largo foods.

(I actually emailed them about 2 years ago as a multi pack of Hunky Dorys showed up on a receipt as a non Irish purchase, whereas Tayto/King show up as Irish, they never got back to me.)

Thought they had differing flavourings ratios. Testing might be required.

I'm a Tayto lover but I think they secretly changed King to be the exact same as Tayto. The recent €2 multipacks of King taste like Tayto to me. Sadly it's what happens when one company owns two brands.

So these days for me it's Tayto or King as they are interchangable.

Tayto and King are almost identical, doesn't really matter.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I like most Crisps but Tayto and Tayto products would be my favourite type of Crisps I like the other ones but nothing really beats Taytos.

Pringles are a bit too addictive they give me head freeze and get a headache from them so stopped eating them! The velvet crisps and tortilla crisps are nice too they both not don't have too strong and heavy flavour.

Loaf of proper batch bread, sliced nice and thick by hand. Nice bit of butter on both sides.

Sprinkle a little bit of freshly grated (or sliced), good quality cheddar on one side.

Pour freshly crushed crisps over this. Sprinkle more grated cheddar onto crisps.

Place other buttered slice on top, push down and place in toasted sandwich maker.

While toasting, make a fresh mug of tea and place 3 Mikado, or Kimberly biscuits on a plate for consumption after the sambo.

Enjoy and fcuk the calories and the health freaks.

The downside to Keogh's, O'Donnell's etc is all the throat lacerations you inevitable get when you try to eat a pack of them.

Haven't had one in years because I'm totes sophisticated now but in my house growing up the bread was buttered and we added a slice of processed cheese to the mix, delicious!

Cheese and onion tayto or meanies in a blaa with real butter.

    This is an oxymoron.

But regarding the actual question - fresh white bread (of any variety, really), real butter and Tatyo cheese 'n' onion. No contest.
