Hi! I have never been on the dart before and I need to get from Grand Canal Dock to Greystones by 1030 am. I see that there are 2 departures that can get me there on time, one at 9 and 932am. My question is that do they run a different schedule for the Saturday and Sunday on the bank holiday? Thanks!

GCD is being commissioned earlier than the originally planned August bank holiday weekend, will now be commissioned on 18th of this month.

They're going to do that on a Monday?, or it will be ready to go on Monday as in they will commission it over the weekend of the 16-17th.

Madness to close the whole GCD area on a working day. Pure carnage.

Sorry it will be commissioned in the early hours of the 18th, but work will be done on the 17th only meaning the line will be closed on the Sunday, but not the Saturday or the Monday.

It's normally a Sunday schedule on a bank holiday but check www.irishrail.ie beforehand.

He clearly meant the early hours of the Monday morning when the engineering possession would be lifted.

So does this mean the dart is running on the 30 and 31st of July?

It should be but there may yet be changes.

The bank holiday timetable is not online yet.

no, there was no confirmation in your posts, only speculation.

As an aside how is less than a week's notice for a major rail closure considered acceptable?

Indeed you did, so which impotent people in South Dublin managed to bend IE's ear and not close the route on the BH weekend. ;)

Irish Rail finally getting their PR side of things up to standard.

If they spent less time on PR and more on giving people sufficient notice of engineering works we might all get on a bit better

They used to spend zero ,nada time or money on PR before the last few months:pac:

The fact they uses Twitter for most of their announcements is a pain in the hoop though. I don't use Twitter and no one I know makes any use of it either.

They have the announcements on their Web site few weeks in advance.
