I heard on the radio last evening that legendary broadcaster & famous wit Brenda Donoghue is to get her own show.

In true RTE style, Brenda's show will be all about some mundane feature of her own life: Commuting to work.

    Sounds riveting.

    Jobs for the boys girls.

Didn't see that job advertised in the media. I might have applied for it.

If you are good at shouting in a fake Dublin accent, you might have stood a chance

I remember some years ago , I had to restrain her from pissing on the floor in a supermarket. She was down for a blessing of the graves with hundreds of other travellers. The toilets were closed due to them getting destroyed in previous years.

I am delighted that Brenda Donohue has finally got her own show. She is an engaging and warm presenter. She deserves her own show after all these years. She has grafted on Radio One for years.

No, I brought her up to Staff Toilets.

Liked tonight's show. Ratoath came across very well.

I have to admit, it was produced very well. They had a sociologist come to Ratoath and discuss social and urban change. Very good mix of human-interest stories and academic content. I was really impressed with the focus on the changing nature of community, and how families respond to the stress of modern living.

So Brenda and her producer have to be congratulated for that. I still don't think Brenda is a great presenter, but this was the best I've ever heard her on radio.

Fair fcuks to her anyway. I'll be tuning in next week out of genuine interest, so that's me proven wrong!

Piece on the Irish Examiner website about her and how she feels it's harder for women to make it in radio and TV.
