Good primary schools

Hi, my family and I are considering a move to Ireland. We need to be within an hours drive of an airport-ideally Dublin I think-for the purpose of my husbands work.
We have 2 children, a 6 and 2 year old.
We are looking for somewhere with good schools, safe area and nice community feel.
I know every place has its good and bad areas but some rough pointers would be really helpful to start us off.
We'd be looking for a 3 bed house (4 if we can stretch the budget) which we haven't set in stone so don't let that rule suggestions for now.

If it makes any difference I don't drive as of yet but hopefully that can change.

What do you define as a "good"school?

it depends what type of area you want to be in. if Dublin airport is your focus do you want to be in suburban dublin or a commuter town that your husband can make his way from? if dublin then some obvious areas are Malahide , Howth , Sutton and Clontarf and on the southside Sandymount Booterstown and Blackrock as there is quick access to the airport from here.

Drogheda, Swords, Maynooth are all within a good distance of Dublin airport with a variety of schools to offer.

Pretty much anywhere in Dublin is within 1 hours drive of the airport. I'd suggest you check out property prices on myhome.ie or daft.ie to narrow down possible locations, and then start looking at schools after that.
