I've tried it in 3 cars and theres seems to be almost no radio reception from West Athlone to Loughrea for the last 2 weeks. Reception is terrible and intermittent. Anyone know whats going on ?

    Which station?

    I presume along the M6?

All of them. I usually listen to today fm but it is crackly as hell. If I press scan on any of the radios it gets no signal and never finds a station. Radio 1 probably has the best signal but I'm not ready for that life choice yet. Nothing around Ballinasloe. The bad signal stretches from West Athlone to the new services near loughrea on M6.

Can't say I've noticed poor reception on the national stations along the M6, but phone coverage is definitely very patchy in spots.

Today FM should be clear from Athlone to at least Ballinasloe on their new 100.2 transmitter.

From there on you should get clear Today FM on 100.6 from Maghera, this is the same transmitter that covers Galway city. It wouldn't really make sense that you'd be able to get Maghera west of the Loughrea junction but not east.

As the problem is with all the stations I figured it was a transmitter problem. Maybe I'm between transmitters or something. Very strange having terrible reception with all the stations. Ah well. Nothing I can do I suppose.

Contact rtenltech@rte.ie about it. They deal with RTÉ and Today FM reception.
