How to remove paint from fireplace

    Hi
Previous owners in our house painted over the tiles and black hearth to the front of the fireplace - painted cream, in quite a thick coated paint, it seems.

Cant find how I attach a picture to this thread - but the tile surround and black hearth are completely painted over.

Any idea how we would / could remove this? Or is it just a lost cause....

    Thanks
    C

If they're glazed tiles you might find the paint will actually scratch off handy enough. Try a heatgun and a paint scraper if it's well bonded. The thick coat might be a savior, as it can allow the paint to come off in large chunks. :)
