Hanging up the riding boots, it's been a great career but time to finish it!

Prob my biggest victory was in a British courtroom.

Retiring with immediate effect, thanking you all in advance for the kind messages.

    Best. Jockey. Ever.

    Sad day for racing :(

Suffering from severe depression, hope he gets well soon.

Been some career. Turbulent doesn't even begin to describe it but a brilliant rider at his best. Hope he conquers his demons and can enjoy a happy retirement.

So the story of you not bouncing like you used to are not entirely true?

A genuinely lovely fella as well. A group of us met him in a restaurant in England years ago, he hung out with us for half an hour, posing for photos, signing autographs, and talking horses.

His depression diagnosis comes as no surprise, what is amazing is that he wasn't diagnosed sooner. He's had the hallmarks of a manic personality for as long as I can remember him riding.

Thanks, I enjoyed the night and I know you offered to foot the bill but I'm no freeloader, it was a pleasure to meet ye all.

Don't worry, you've not seen the last of me, once I kick this depression thing I'll be back riding out and educating some lovely 2yo's :)

Depends on whether he's suffering from clinical depression or bipolar depression. There's a big difference between the two.

He was a divisive character but there's no denying his ability. For a period of about 7 or 8 years he was the best flat racing jockey in Europe and possibly even the best in the world. One of the best there's been.

Grew up watching Fallon. His troubles aside, he was one of the best in the saddle although his style of riding was unique. Read the biography, worth reading if anyone hasn't read it. Published about 10 yrs+ ago. Hope he looks for the help he wants and follows through on it like murtagh said. GL to you if your reading this and wish you the best, I feel old now that you've retired!!!!
