EU1 Application - Stamp 4 Problems

    Hello,

I'm not sure if anyone here can help me with my question but it's worth a try.

I am a Canadian citizen living in Ireland with my EU partner and I am currently in the application process for a Stamp 4EUFAM visa. I have my temporary stamp 4 visa at the moment and I am waiting for my decision on receiving the 5 year visa.

My problem is that my temporary stamp expires on July 16 and as usual INIS are delayed in getting out the decisions on the 5 year stamps. I was supposed to receive an answer after 6 months but it has already been 6 1/2 months. From what I have read online, it is taking on average 8 months to get the decision from them.

I have a job right now and I don't know what to do about it. I am constantly trying to contact INIS to ask them what is the normal procedure when an applicant has a job and their temporary GNIB card is about to expire. I need to know if there is some way to get an extension on my temporary visa while I wait or if I can still legally work after my card expires. They send me back copy/paste answers by email that tell my decision will be made in due course and don't even attempt to provide me with the information I desperately need.

So, I am wondering if anyone knows or has dealt with a situation similar to this in the past and can answer my question. I am going crazy from the stress of all of this and I don't know what to do anymore.

I basically waited 3 months for my temporary visa to be issued, when it should have taken 4-6 weeks. I was unable to leave the country during that time or even work. I recently just spent over 3 months looking for work with no luck. I've finally found a job after being unemployed since November and I am desperate to keep it. Now because of the delays with immigration I will probably be forced to quit this job I spent so much time looking for. Now I am afraid I will be out of work for another couple of months due to the delays and then go back to the job hunting process that takes ages. This whole situation is a nightmare for me and I can't handle being out of work for months on end again.

Thank you for any information anyone might be able to provide.

    Ok, thanks.

I just thought that maybe someone on the boards had personal experience with the same issue, as I am sure there are a lot of people in the same boat as me.

I'm experiencing the same situation - applied for stamp4 eufam almost 6 months ago and it's critical for me to get it by due date, EU treaty rights unit doesn't reply to emails. Can anyone please PM me a contact of a good solicitor who could help? TIA!

Does it ring a bell with anyone that, while your application is still pending decision, you can renew your 6 month stamp for another 6 months by returning to GNIB? I recall reading this somewhere online when I was researching the EUFAM stamp.

How long will it take the EU treaty rights to send a confirmation letter saying that they have received your application?

I have been waiting for more than 2 weeks :(

I guess it is at least 2 months due to the backlogs or 8 weeks. and 10 months for the decision.
