Really excited about my first Balkan adventure in August. 13 days from Tirana to Split. Just planning it out now and I've got as far as Sveti Stefan (via accursed mountains!)
Has anybody any experience of hiking/rafting/canyoning/staying in Durmitor national park? We will be on the coast (Sveti Stefan, but probably best to head from Budva) and want to head back to Kotor. Without having a car I think our best option is to go through an agency, but just wondering if anyone has any tips? We'd like to go rafting one day and hiking the other. I'm interested in canyoning, but the prices seem so much higher than when I did it in Andalucia, just wondering if it's worth it. Or dangerous? (I was put off canyoning for years because I was working near Interlaken the summer of the canyoning disaster here).
Or any other tips on what not to miss in the area?

Sorry that I didn't see this sooner. Couldn't imagine doing Albania without a car. We had a car and I speak a bit of Albanian so I'd say go with the agency. Prob too late for tips (we did all the main tourist highlights anyway, up the coast from Albania to Croatia). Would be interested in hearing how you got on!
