Boundary

Our neighbours put this fence up over the last few days on their side of the existing boundary fence? What can I do with this? They won't let me take it out and put a wall in its place. I offered to do this and pay for it myself a few months ago and they agreed. They changed their minds then and done nothing more until this. They said I can't remove it as it's the boundary and I'd be gaining more space, a whole 6" or so ????

This shows their new fence and the existing one.

God knows what they were thinking. It's a crap set up!
The best thing would have been a proper wall down the middle.

Your slightly stuck here as legally the boundary is there, so you cannot alter it without permission.

Might be worth while talking legal advice on options?

Just plant some climbers or Something on existing concrete fence.

    TBH it's not that bad.

I know but I had asked them if I could replace it with a proper wall and they agreed. I didn't think it would be that high. If my daughter is playing in the green outside I can't see across from the house or yard to see where she is.

Is this new fence to the rear or front of your house?

Agh! It's an illegal fence then and not planning compliant.
Report to the planning enforcement section of your council and it will be swiftly dealt with. Max height for a wall/boundary to front is 1200mm.

Definetly above the 1.2m allowed, report to council, unreal what some people will try.

I thought so. I'm only living here a year. They've been here 11. Really didn't want to step on anyones toes but they've put me in an awkward position
