Second tractor?

Have a 39 year old MF.. Good machine, no major trouble ( usual stuff) Starts and goes grand.
thinking of getting another tractor as a back up, specially if stuck in winter time.. Even a cheap small tractor would do as back up..But then will end up with 2 old machines to keep up and repair..
Wouldnt have work for 2 tractors normally but as peace of mind be something to think about..
Any comments welcome

Unless your located on a tiny island and it's the only tractor on it then I really don't see the point ha, as you say 2 tractors to maintain and repair. In theory you tell yourself your going to keep both in good shape but in reality one will probably end up left not running because it isn't needed, and that defeats the purpose of having it haha. Instead, If your not already, become friends with a neighbour and borrow their tractor if you get caught out. Worked perfectly for me last winter, a neighbour ended up feeding the cows for 3days here last winter, I'm at the point that if it made sense I'd happily pay him to do all the winter feeding on contract moving forward.
