Would Europe be more powerful today if Nazi Germany had won World War ll ?

The war decided that communism would be the only rival to the capitalist "west". The Nazi's could have dominated all of the USSR. If they had reached an accommodation with the British Empire, the 2 combined would have been a greater challenge to US hegemony than the Soviets. Europe now, really is a spent force when you look at the re emergence of China and other growing powers.

Many of the post war/Cold War arms race was based on competition between former Nazi scientists. Europe is well behind many areas now, such as electronics. When was the last time you bought a European phone or TV?

Often wondered but figure probably not. Capitalism has been the biggest contribution to modern society. Nothing else has come close and as right as they were in their seething hatred of Communism, their seething hatred of other things ultimately cost them their future...

Just to be clear I abhor Nazism but things could so easily have turned out differently. I find that interesting in all aspects of history.

What sort of world would it be though where a race of people are wiped from the face of the earth because of thier Creed. If you're not the superior skin colour you will be condemned to a lower class of citizenship. Where people with disabilitys and defects are enthusiastised.

Watch 'alternative history hubs' series on this, it is based on that tv show where Nazis won. Fascinating insight even though we can just guess, reality is we'd all feel European and hate America. We would probably be several decades more advanced too.

Most fanatics like the nazi party are like supernovae. Same goes for IS.

They grow fast and agressive. Have a short life span and destroy themselves.

Had Germany destroyed the ussr which if things played out differently they could have. I still don't think nazism would last. I'm confident someone would have killed or overthrow Hitler. It's not like they had honour or anything. Plus the Germans were not told of the horrors done on their name had that got out would the military turn on its own? The SS would but the wehrmacht would not. So I'm guessing civil war and the removal of the nazi leaders.

Who knows

But all this would not happen. Germany would be atomically bombed to the stone age
