Moving out of our rented house as we hope to close on our first home. Can't wait to leave renting behind. Done with it. So just cleaning and off loading having a coffee that's making me happy right now.

My niece was diagnosed with cancer last year, she's only 1. Anyway, at the start it didn't look good, she was in a bad way. Now she's massively improved and she's ready for surgery this week. Also, I raised €400 for her :)

Not better by any means but she is getting there and im so so grateful!!!

Same here. Although I wouldn't describe the cleaning and packing as joy filled activities! :D
Why can't I pay somebody to do this for me.

Just had pizza and garlic cheese chips, and am now sitting on the sofa with my OH, cats snuggled on and around us, watching the footy.

Now if only Wales could figure out where they need to put the ball.

I am full of Japanese food and wine, with a fire lighting, while knowing there is Ben and Jerry's in the freezer for later!

Please do! I'm really enjoying throwing out all the clutter and crap that we'll never use. My husband is out with friends and I'm using is as an opportunity to throw out half of his stuff! :D

God bless her. It really makes any of our own problems seem trivial. Your health is your wealth as they say. I really hope her surgery goes well Panda.

They're probably just trying to dry out after the monsoon style weather today.

Nope, in Dublin. I am quite chilly but haven't been outside to gauge the real temperature today. my sitting room gets no direct sun so gets cold!

Thank you :) so wrong that a baby can be so sick, but thankfully she's getting better.

Oh god I hate packing I'd rather eat my own head. I've moved onto wine to numb the pain so god only knows where things end up when packed. Ah well.

My swee'pea is officially the most beautiful two-year old in the world, and she comes running to me (almost) every evening.

Also we know how lucky we are that she's in good health.

EDIT: the other side of the coin being that I'm one of those parents who won't shut up about their kid. Great.

That I have a weekend off.

I haven't had one in ages!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,646 ✭✭✭✭qo2cj1dsne8y4k

Getting up early enough that I can watch cartoons and eat cereal straight from the box before having to start getting ready for work.
That's what Saturday mornings were made for.

Also when someone washes my hair. I LOVE people at my hair.

Getting hugs, it's a good start to the day

Well today, I got to enjoy a few things that made me happy.

My Mrs took our kid to the cinema so I got to read my book, catch up on a few episodes of a boxset, go for a long walk, listen to Spotify....

Then my Mrs brought me home some cheese and crackers...

Nor much to most but for me it was like a weekend in Vegas

Sitting here, kids in bed and watching some Gordon Ramsay programme I don't give a **** about. Tomorrow, hopefully, my lovely wife will be out of hospital, with a suspected stroke ruled out after getting two days day release and we can have her home again!!!

Belletti Prosecco. People say alcohol isn't the answer. Feck em, it doesn't need to be, when you've forgotten the question.

    No work tomorrow.

A full fridge and freezer. A well stocked wine rack and a few bottles of grog.

    Life's good. For now.

Sweet freedom. I might go to sleep now or I might stay awake until 5 in the morning. Tomorrow I might hop on a train or stay in bed all day or do some work.
Maybe I'll apply for a visa to a different country. Anything at all. Being able to choose and to do freely is important to me :)

Is the problem of non-compliance not related to the fact that it makes you less 'happy'. (Although obviously that 'happiness' is ultimately very self destructive)

Oh, I miss the true happiness. Mania is great, really enjoyable. I could drink any amounts, I was a god in bed, I was the life and soul of any party.

It's the arrests, spending everything I had in an hour, the crazy decisions I made and the eventual come down that takes you to a comparable level that I don't miss.

I miss the great sex but overall I'm happier. ;)
