Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels

With 4K being the next standard, this resolution just won't cut it. This is not even full HD (1920x1080).

I don't see the fascination with smart TV's. Also its only 720P.

Buy a cheap Android Box and have four times the power and 100's of more options.

This is the one I have. Lot information on the android forum. You need to get a wireless mouse for it as well which is around a fiver Do a bit of googling to see its real value. Can't be discussed here but have a look at the best KODI add-ons on google.

To be fair, I think he is right. The smart tv function is very limited in what it can do.
You're best to read this thread http://www.boards.ie/thread/2057446012/

When buying a TV, I think you should focus on pixels, refresh rate and number of hdmi ports. Don't buy it for its "smart" functions.

Yep, with my lg smart tv, i get a different notification every few months that such and such a service will no longer be available, once they sell you the to they don't care. You can't just get apps for them like you can on android. I still like mine because it's all in one, but even my roku box has a better selection of apps.

I got a 50" Sharp smart tv recently and the picture is excellent.
The apps though are pure sh1te.The only worthwhile one is Youtube.

I don't even bother with them.I just use a cheap android box(€25 delivered) that I keep updated and well maintained.

Pay another €20 for a box with 2GB ram and 16GB storage if you can.

I got my smart tv from pixmania five or six years ago
Played around with the smart side of it for a couple of months, only decent thing on there is the rte and tv3 player which constantly buffer so I end up giving up after ten minutes
Never use the smart part anymore, it's not even connected to the Internet now
Better spec tv is the way to go and swerve the smart option
I have openbox and an android box on mine now

Did you get that in Tesco was a great deal on it there a few weeks ago. Would have got one myself except my local Tesco only had the 43'' one and it was the same price as the 50 so I did not bother after. If it had of been the other way around I would have bought it.

Peace and long life.

[Mod snip]

Not a smart Arse response but the boxes I suggested are not allowed to be discussed on this forum as they are illegal

Hope that helps James
Google is your friend when it comes to illegal things

Where can you get it for €25? I would have thought you would be hit with import duties from the site linked above?
