Anyone here know where I can get a single sided tape which will seal radon Barrier or heavy gague plastic for uunder floors! I can purchase the double sided tape everywhere I go but can't seem to locate a single sided tape anywhere! Something like duct tape only needs to be able to seal heavy gague plastic.

As far I remember the Radon spec requires a butyl jointing tape, usually 50mm wide.
Certainly duct tape will not meet the required spec.

Hi there, I went on a similar futile quest - I don't believe one exists, you must use the double sided butyl tape then apply a new piece of radon membrane over. Another possible solution that I ended up using for some difficult areas was a self adhesive radon membrane (PM for manufacturer details) which I cut into strips - this is a fantastic product but expensive plus you have to buy an entire roll of membrane unless you get speaking to one of the reps and get a 'sample' :)

Dunno much about the regs myself, bit as an alternative to just using duct tape, Gorilla tape is much beefier and withstands temperature change, moisture etc much better. I've used it on building plastic and it's near impossible to remove, even when you want to!

Uncle Google is your friend !

    in Northern Ireland :

    http://www.jmcaleer.com/index.php?p=product&id=537&parent=58

£11.46 for 20m, £6.95 delivery to the Republic.

And the £ is cheap at the moment... :D

Otherwise, you can buy the double sided tape locally, and peel only one side, that makes a single side tape... :p
