    Hi,
I recently started an internship for the summer. I'm getting paid and still have a part time job at the weekends, I rang the tax office and they split my tax credits.
However since doing this my part time job says I now owe Tax and havnt got paid from there in several weeks as 100% of my income is being taken in tax.
After ringing the tax office several times they have told me I am to be out on Week1 basis so I can get paid , however 7 weeks later I still haven't been changed over and have payed 100% of my wages from my original job to tax.
Any suggestions as to what I can do to get this sorted?
    Thanks

You need to forcast roughly what you will earn in each job for the year and split them more efficiently. If you give us a guide on what you will earn we can advise. In the meantime, ring the tax office and get put onto a week 1 basis until this is sorted.

It sounds like the payroll people have been very slow in getting the updated tax credits certificate.

Did Revenue mail you and updated certificate after you rang them? If not, call them and ask them to do so. Then ask your employers to check if they have received the same one. If they do payroll manually, this should prompt them to sort your records out.

The Employer is obligated to apply a week 1 basis in the interim, if they get a certificate down that is likely to leave you with no wages. This is detailed in the Employer's Guide to PAYE.

Your employer has failed you here

I've rang the tax office on several occasions to be put onto a week 1 basis, but habe still not been put on one.

I received a tax cert about two weeks ago, so I habe to chase up my employer now?
