    Hey all,

We are looking at a house in the firhouse area (sale agreed at the moment) and our engineering survey recommended we do a CCTV drain survey in case there was an issue with the drainage under the side path (which has settled a little).

I'm looking at Dyno-rod, A1 drains, Drain doctor etc.

Any recommendations? We have been quoted around 400/500 for survey.

Can you not hire the inspection camera or buy a cheap inspection camera. Are you looking for damage of sewage waste pipe . If damage is discovered you.want to come to an agreement to discount the house to cover the cost of repair...

It's a radio controlled CCTV camera capable of being run through a sewer - you won't exactly find it on Aldi's middle aisle!

400-500 is about right. Any of the companies will give you a report and DVD highlighting defects within the pipe runs. You can no doubt use this report, if it does highlight significant issues, as a bargaining tool when agreeing your price.

To echo what was said above I'd consider 400 Euro quite good value if you can get it for that.

I have used MUST Ltd in Tullamore Co. Offaly before. They do work around Dublin quite regularly.
