    Hi,

I have recently got a new job and I have been asked to fill out a form containing "Personal Details". One of the fields I was asked to fill in was "Nationality ID", and I am not sure exactly what it is. Initially I thought it was just another name for my PPS number, but the form also had a field for that as well.

Then I thought it might be my passport number, but I'm not 100% sure.

Does anybody know what exactly "Nationality ID" means?

Maybe what's your nationality? Sounds like they could use it against you though to be honest. Could be totally wrong though

Ask you manager or HR department. They'll know better than randoms on the interweb, who've never seen the form!

A lot of countries have National ID cards. If you have one, put in the number. If you don't have one, I would just leave it blank.

I ended up just asking the HR manager, and she wasn't really sure herself! She said she thought it meant Nationality, such as Irish, English etc.
