Thinking of taking a break in Madeira around mid July. Looking please for advice on where to stay...a reputable hotel please. Is there much to do on this Island ...only planning on staying for a week. Many thanks

I can't remember where I stayed but be aware the Funchal is all hills.

Plenty to do on the island. The botanic gardens is worth a visit with the vable car ride down.

Get a car as the scenery is fantastic and there's not much traffic...( traffic may have changed in the few years since I've been.)
