    See https://www.landdirect.ie/index.html

you can go to your local council ,planning dept,
See if theres any applications in your area, near the house .
Its free to inspect applications for planning permission i think .
Land can be bought or sold anytime ,if you buy a house in an area ,
zoned for agriculture ,farming, theres not much chance of a factory
or office being built close to your house.
my friend bought a farm with 2 acres of land ,
there,s no house that can be seen from his house .
Within a mile of his house theres a few bungalows .
He is not a farmer , he just lives there .
