:) I have AccuWeather on my phone, by default. But, that's gone weird on me lately. I'd like to replace it. But, I gave up after scrolling through 200+ other apps on the Google Store thing.

Anyone suggest a good one, please? Local weather.

    Thanks.

I use yr, which is the Norwegian weather service (yr.no is the website).

Easy to use and fairly accurate.

    Dark Sky

Arcus is astonishingly accurate for rainfall in the short term. It monitors the rainfall radar & a typical message might be "light rain starting in 40 mins stopping 20 mins later" - it really is that precise.

For longer range I use yr.no.

ME radar is essential & it's best to bookmark the page rather than using the app.

I use yr.no as well. There's an app for both Android and IOS too.

Thanks, everyone. Ye couldn't make this up! Would ye believe my phone / google is playing me up?!

I can't access the play store. Just a white page.

Come to think of it? As my default weather thing has gone on the wonk; Could this signify the beginning of the end for my phone? Bummer! I could well do without that :(

I second Arcus for rainfall notifications. Also try weather timeline for the same feature. Weather timeline is very accurate on rainfall events.

Wanted to try that but the play store says its incompatible with all my devices.
What did you install it on?

Met Eireann's own app can be handy for the rainfall radar.

    This too shall pass.

I downloaded it yesterday. Said nearest rain was 23km away, I must have great eyesight as I could see rain out the window.

It will only warn of rain that is showing on the ME radar. Also it depends on the update interval.
