dab is a very complicated issue at the moment because they're is no legal framework in relation to licences put in place and the BAI don't seem to be in a hurry to implement such a framework. i believe though they have decided (or maybe it's comreg who decided) that dab+ will be the standard implemented if a framework and a roll out is ever proceeded with. i presume until such time everything is set up (if ever that is) then the commercials may likely not bother with national dab. they all operated as part of the big test back around 2007/8, and some stations from time to time do and have appeared on muxes) which comreg have issued test licences for.
i believe the muxes are still on air, the southeast ran by total broadcast, and the other test muxe (i think the company is digital radio limited but open to correction) but i can't confirm. the tests i believe use both dab and dab+.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

i believe use both dab and dab+.

+1 The Dublin mux appears to support both, but apparently only for non-RTE stations i.e. I can see Sunshine and Sunshine+ and the same for Ri-Ra and some of the other independent stations.

Well in that case DAB is dead in the water in Ireland for a good 5 years from whenever every new car comes with it.

Its unlikely that all new cars will have it in 5 years either.

Far more have it now than used to purely because the silicon used supports it anyway and its not complicated to add to the radio software. Ditto Radiotext+ and similar.
