My brother is looking at a house and we saw this issue. Not sure of the exact rules but we both assumed that where a boiler house is built into a house and only accessed by its own external door that it should have a construction that properly segregates it from the rest of the house.
It has 100mm block dividing it from the rest of the dwelling and it has just a foil slab on the ceiling which is below the main attic of the dwelling.
What are the rules on this and does it depend on the type of burner - the house owner says that as it's a burner that was suitable to install in the house anyway that it doesn't make sense to have to segregate It cause it's in its own area.
Doesn't look right to us though. Built around 2000.
