Was looking at the letsTalkSolar post and having looked at solar a few years back I have a question

Is it possible to have a system that will heat the radiators and give hot water in the tap. Who if any provide this system?

I'm no expert in this field but last i heard was that there isn't enough solar gain in Ireland to make this feasible. Also, what you'd spend on the kit would insulate your house to the extent that you wouldn't need the heating as much. Simpler overall i think. I am interested to hear what the experts think though.
Maybe the tech has moved on a bit since i last looked??

My last research was that you couldn't have a system that fed both. As the central heating system was closed it was too expensive to do it. Hopefully this isn't the case any more as it's the only way I could see my self getting solar as if it only does hot water for the taps the ROI would be too much for me.
