Congrats! I will be a 2018 bride! Nothing booked yet so all feels a little bit imaginary at the minute :) Trying to settle on a venue is hard, we want to have 120 or a little less and everywhere seems to be targeted at bigger weddings and the last thing I want is a big space that feels empty. I have picked my dress though

    Brilliant! Congratulations PenneyWren

Im dreading looking for a dress. Work colleague is looking at the minute and she has me scared! (Il add that i hate trying clothes on in shops!)

It'll be great, you'll love it. I hate shopping with people, you know all the "try this and what about that" craic, can't stand that. Bring a small group that knows you really well and you'll have a great time. I went with my sisters and we had such a laugh. The consultant was hilarious too.
Now I just need to figure out how to get mine from NY to here!
Have you got anything else booked? If you are having a church wedding, did you book your church or venue first?

Sounds like a right craic :)Did you get your dress in NY

Il defnitely bring my mam and thats it! If i could order it online I defnitely would!

We booked the venue first and then went to the church! So thats all sorted.

Hopefully flowers, band and photographer this weekend!

We talked about eloping but decided we have been together too long and just have a great day with our family and friends :)

I'm a March 2018 Bride :) Venue and Church booked!

Next on our hit list is Photographer, Videographer and DJ.

Haven't started looking at dresses yet but my mother is more excited about it than me. She's a former designer who worked for years in the wedding industry so has already mapped out our first shopping trip. I'm holding her off until later in the year cause I want to shift a few pounds first

Summer 2018 bride here :) have venue and church booked. I put the venue on hold for a week while I confirmed the date in the church was free. Once that was secured, I confirmed the venue!

We actually went to have a look at the church the other day and the lady working there told us it's getting done up at the end of this year so that's a plus!

We have two bands we love but it's hard to get to see them perform live, so that won't be sorted for a little while. Hoping to have videographer and photographer organised by end of Sept and then relax :)

March 2018 here too! Booked the venue yesterday, it's such a relief!
Going to hold off doing much else until the end of the Summer, mainly because we're not sure where to start!

Eeeek just booked our band!!! I know it's very far in advance but I heard they book up ages beforehand....we managed to see them live and they were amazing so wanted to nab them. One more box ticked!!

    Hi Alicemoon,

    It's very daunting isn't it!

Have you set a date and booked the reception and Cermony??

Main things after that would be
    Band
    Photographer
    Cake(if your having one)
    Pick the bridal party
Whatever else you decide you want after!
    Hair and makeup
    Flowers

    June 2018 bride here!
We initially said we would book the church venue and band first then leave it for a few months.
I wanted to do a rough spreadsheet budget so contacted the person I always said I would get to do the DVD for some prices, who was already booked out
So that lit a fire under us to get some other bits booked earlier than planned.
I should say though that I am from a small town with lots of venues nearby so local suppliers would get booked up very quickly and we are having ours the bank holiday weekend.... So no need for others to panic!

June 2018 Bride here too!! I've got the venue, photographer, band and some decor booked. I am so stressed already though haha I am still trying to get my head around the civil ceremony - HSE vs Humanists situation! It is so confusing.

Booked our Interfaith minister yesterday for the ceremony. Decided against a Humanist ceremony in the end.

Hoping heading to the Wedding and Honeymoon show will motivate me to get a few more bits done this side of Christmas.
