Ford Focus

I currently drive a 10yr old 1 Series BMW but I want to go back to my reliable Fords.
Looking to pick up a Ford Focus ideally max a couple of years old but I see they're almost all diesel now. Very few petrol models available now it seems. :(

Would I be mad to pick up a diesel? I was looking at for example, this one. I do a good bit of travelling but my daily commute is just over and back M50 (against the denser traffic flow)

Am I right to say the spec hierarchy is (lowest to highest), Style, Zetec, Titanium...? I really like the look of the newer grill front. Is this only on the higher spec models? Or all of them now?
I was e:mailing a dealer and he was pretty much saying if I was looking at 2015/2016 models I'd be as well to buy brand new as can get heavy discount on that.

Am expecting about €3k for my car on trade in.
