legality of publishing a url

    The details are vague in the report in the IT of p1ayb0y vs Entertainment Media Networks,

    But the paper reports the respondent published a link to images the plaintiff owned copyright on.
    Is there any law restricting publishing a url to a webpage open to the internet?
    Is it not the same as saying 'if you look at this public place you will see this thing?'
