How long to process medical card? (Story inside)

    Hey there,

    So I needed to renew my medical card. I have a part time job on an average of 200 a month, a postgraduate student and pays rent of 175 monthly too.

    I re-applied for my medical card on the 25th of may and had to send additional info which was received on the 9th of June. My review online has said 'information received' since today. It now says 'in progress - please contact if you haven't heard anything by the 15th'. Considering this message only came up on the 20th, I assume this is a mistake?

    How long does it take to process? My medical card ran out on the 9th and I can't afford a prescription I need. Any help would be lovely!

    Call into your GP or chemist and ask them to check their system to see if your card is there.

    My GP is in mayo and I won't be back there till mid July.
