    Hey Guys

I'm doing Hell and Back for the first time on Sunday and I have a few questions.

    1) I want to bring my GoPro to film. Would anybody who has done the course recommend it and if head strap or chest strap ?
    2) It says you are not allowed to secure your runners on you feet with cable ties or masking tape.Anyone have any ideas what could be used instead? I was thinking maybe sports tape?
    3) I was planning on wearing base layer on and a t-shirt and then leggings with shorts over them. Would anybody who has don't a summer Hell and Back before be able tell be if that would be suitable?
    4) I brought a pair of trail runner for the event. Most of my normal runner wouldn't have great grip. What the best way to salvage them after the race so I'm not just chucking them in the bin?

If anyone has any tips. I would appreciate them, as I've never done an adventure race before

    2. They usually give you safety pins with your race number.

    1. Head, I suppose. You will be submerged in water occasionally.

    1) If you're fully intent on bringing the gopro I'd go with the head mount, I'm not bringing mine, be hard to hold onto it tbh

    2) Just tie the laces good and tight, astro boots are the ideal footwear and can be bought cheaply

    3) Should be fine, football jerseys are good, they don't hold much water

    4) Don't bring them, cheap astros and bin them. Whatever you wear on the day will only be fit for the bin after. It'll take you good hour in the shower to clean your body!

It's tremendous fun but worrying about a gopro and or clothing would take away from it for you, just go out, dive in and have fun. I'm trying to get a late entry myself

    1) Great thanks. Just thinking about it as I've seen footage from go pros. Might take it and then decided if i wanna bring it.

    2) Think there are an old pair of astro belonging to my brother that are size too big for that would probably work with an extra pair of sock

Thanks for the advise. I'm doing the 7km and I'm not that fit so I'll will likely to it run/walk. Seen videos of it and really looking forward to it. I wear contacts so will probably be a bit blind going around. don't reckon contacts and mud is a good combo :)

My thinking on the gopro is the last thing I need to be worried about is a couple of hundred quid of camera attached to me, I've enough to be worried about.

My first time doing it I was much like yourself, full of fear and excitement and each obstacle was met with 'they want us to do WHAT!?'

Fingerless gloves would be good, saves cuts and scratches.
