I now have this Baler 2 seasons and I can't get it to make a decent bale. The row I use is of a 10 foot mower. I have tryed driving slow and fast, using different revs, and still no good. D bales are like sponges in d middle. Doesn't seem to b dropping much pressure cause I'm tipping the spool valve every now and again. I have some pics of th bales ere. Hope someone can

Had one years ago, so memories are faded. Is there a regulator on it? If so the valve is stuck on it so regardless of how often you squeeze the spool it wont hold the pressure on the baler to keep the door closed and fill the bale properly. Call a main dealer in the morning and ask to speak to a mechanic. How's the hydraulic pump on the tractor?

Not sure about the regulator. Could this be my problem. Did you see the pictures. It's running grand other wise. Just really annoying when plastic is so expensive.

Are you weaving to fill out the edges of the bale?

How do you know when the bale is finnished? Does the button light up or do you finish the bale when the Needle hits the red? On mine the buzzer sounds and the button lights up when the Needle is well into the red.

Buzzer stopped working in mine a few years ago but the light still lit up, wasn't a big job to replace it and worked fine ever since

Yea I am weaving through the rows

The revs change on the tractor when the bale is full. Also the needle would be in d red. D buzzer or the light doesn't work

Just in the red, or well into it? Sounds like you might be ejecting them a little prematurely :D

It goes well into d red and the engine sound changes. I have never seen it making a decent bale. I'm sure they in general make a good bale

Matty,on the right hand side there is a valve block under the v belt for the net/twine in the block the springs have gone weak you'll have to get them make sure not to lose the balk bearing inside wen ripping it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 165 ✭✭Matty6270

Thanks for d reply. The is a unit under were you put the oil for the chain oil. Also there is a small valve to the right hand side of the twine pulley. I think that's the one your talking about. Could I take that apart myself. Do you think that's my problem. Have you come across this b4

by any chance have you checked wear on the hinges on the door.. and have checked for lakes on the rams

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 165 ✭✭Matty6270

So what do you replace with pennys

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭lab man

The pennies go between the spring and the Base of the valve to keep more pressure on the ball bearing pm me if u want

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 165 ✭✭Matty6270

Ahh on. I will take it apart tomorrow and see how I get on. So if this is the problem will it take in more grass or just pack it tighter together

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭lab man

    Both

Just took this block valve apart ere. Took out d spring put notice small 3 small shims(washers) all ready there. They a very light washers. Like .5mm or less. Are these there from factory or not. There was a seal on it that had to be cut so thought the washers were there from new.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 165 ✭✭Matty6270

I was just thinking there is this why my buzzer and light aren't working because they know the bale isn't ready to be made ??

I forget about if there is shims or not in the valve to be honest tis about 6/8 yrs since I done it tbh.... no the valve don't tell about the bale brain made that's the switch on the door above the right wheel that's broken I would think or maybe just stuck in one position

Ahh ok. I will check that this evening. So how many small coins should I put in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 174 ✭✭johndeere3350

Is this baler for your own use?
Would you not be better off sell it now at this stage instead of tormenting yourself with bad bales and guessing when the bale is ready.I'm not being smart saying that either you obviously have the rest of the machinery yourself too so would you not be better just get someone In to bale and you do the rest??
I'd assume it's copper washers are in that valve they can wear slightly and make a big difference so I'd get new ones of them while your at it.

Wish I could buy a new machine everytime one didn't work perfectly. :)
