08-plate Ford Fiesta (old shape) Stereo Problem

    Hi,
Having some trouble with the stereo in an 08 Fiesta (old facelifted 2002 model). It's a 'new' car so I don't know how long the problems are there. It's one of the huge original factory Ford 6006CDC 6-disc in-dash changers. FM and CDs both work perfectly, but there are problems as below:

    1. The reception on AM is quiet
The AM reception is many times quieter than FM, just about listenable. It's not a case that it's interference, there's practically none, but the sound is just quiet. I'm on the border so it's not a case of weak signals, I'm not trying to get Radio Ulster in Cork or anything like that. Other cars and household radios pick up any AM channel I'd want perfectly at sensible volume. The car has a mast antenna on the roof, not one that's embedded in one of the windows.

    2. The AUX input is incredibly quiet
Even with the volume turned up to full on the device, the radio's volume has to be on full for the music to be just about audible. The (very quiet) engine noise is enough to drown out the sound.

    3. The bluetooth doesn't work
The car has an original factory fitted Ford Nokia Bluetooth module behind the glovebox. I know these are very tempermental and often have to be 'reset' but this hasn't done anything. Tried disconnecting the battery, disconnecting the module, pulling the radio fuse, engine on, engine off, and any possible combinations of those, but nothing works. The radio doesn't show Bluetooth in the advanced menu as the ones in YouTube videos about the Bluetooth system.

    Can anyone help?

    1 - No idea

2 - Are you sure the AUX connection is fully inserted in to the device? Have you tried another AUX device like another phone or tablet to see what volume that gives?

3 - When you try to connect on the phone to the bluetooth on the car does it show the car, if it does what happens when you try to connect?

    2. Tried two different devices and two different cables, all the same. Both devices and cables work on another car's AUX in.
    3. No, it's as if the Bluetooth doesn't exist, phone doesn't see it, radio acts like it hasn't got it (but the module is definitely present and plugged in)
