Currently have 2kids- 1 in a high back booster, and my younger girl is going into a group 1 seat soon (I'm going with extended rear facing). I drive a focus (131 saloon) worth about 15k, and it's just too small. We're all tall, and when I start using the rf seat, I know there's not going to be enough room in the front.
I'd also like the capacity to carry a third child if needs be- ideally on a booster, for play dates, minding my niece etc. And I want a decent boot- the boot on my focus is quite big, but it's quite restricted height wise, because it's not a lift back. Ideally I'd love to get something of equal value to whAt I have, but that would mean going back in year- there's almost 3 years left on my loan though, so I'm not inclined to- I would be conscious of owing money on a car thats more than 6 or seven years old, because maintenance costs obviously tend to get a bit higher at that stage, so could put 4-5 k to it if necessary.
So in brief, im looking for a decent sized family car with a decent boot, 131 or newer if possible for 15-20k- any recommendations?

Thanks for that. I must go and look at a superb in real life- I keep hearing about the great rear leg room. I'd rather not buy an estate.
Do the pre newer model mondeos have a lift back boot, or is it just the 151 model?

I had a Superb for a month while I was waiting on my new Mondeo and the Suoerb was excellent. Massive room in the back, huge boot and a very smooth car to drive. I drove the 1.6tdi and it didn't feel in any way underpowered

The 2008 to 2015 second generation Superb has the twin opening boot/hatch.

Yes the MK4 2008 to 2015 model Mondeo did come as a 5 door with the lift back boot.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Thanks- I'd love the lift back. The new shape mondeos are a nice car, but I don't think I could stretch to one!
