    I've an nVidia shield and a Sony Android TV, and love them...but seems there is no RTEPlayer. Anyone got a solution for streaming RTE or other channels. Most important for Euro matches for the next few weeks :-)

    Try sideloading the normal Android app onto your TV

    Hmm. I sideloaded it (found rte-player-1-0-80-apkplz.com.apk )... but it doesn't work. I get;

    Try Again
    (Cannot Connect)

    Error in the bottom right.

    Huh. Sideloading worked on my Sony Android TV. Didn't work on the nVidia shield.

    Thanks for the hint, and screw you, nVidia.

    lol. No. RTE Player starts...but seems it can't be controlled with a TV remote. LOL.

    Curiously, I can chromecast RTE player to the TV. But only the audio track works. Amazing.

    I was gonna suggest to get it on the shield rather than the sony tv as it'll be easier to control.

    I have the same setup as you. Sony tv in the living room, shield tv in the bedroom. The control pad that comes with the shield (assuming you are running the latest firmware) can be used as a mouse controller, whereas neither of the controls that come with the Sony tv can do that.

    Seing as it actually runs on the TV though, do you have a USB mouse that you can plug into the tv? It'll work just as you expect and give you a mouse pointer on screen. Help you navigate the RTE player app! :)

    I've got a wee bluetooth keyboard/trackpad combo. Will try pair that with it & make it go.

    Should work alright.
    Put the bluetooth dongle into one of the usb ports and it should work away :)
