Normally I'd ask my lady these questions as she works for the department but she's off climbing in the alps and is out of phone coverage for a few days.

I have a family member of a friend who phoned me to ask about where he stands in regards to going back to university.

He's on DA for a chronic illness but is considering doing a 1 or 2 year masters in a new semi-related field as it would allow him to get a desk job and get back to work as he's getting a bit down about being idle and misses work life.

I know he could do a degree and get DA but would it be possible for him to get DA while doing a masters or HDip?
