Thinking mainly stuff to do with the kids. I'm in the county now for 17 years and there's still loads I've not seen or done and even less the kids have seen.

Colooney mills waterfall and things like that is what I mean.

    Any suggestions?

Get the kids surfing. Sligo's even more amazing if you surf.

Yeah they both love the water too and it's one of the things that I've been meaning to do for years.

Strandhill the best place I guess? What age should they be to try it?

I've used http://www.sligowalks.ie to find spots round the county that I wouldn't have thought of myself.
Other activites would be Eagles Flying, horse riding - both Grange and Ransboro. Keash caves is another place to visit. Carrowmore tombs too.
All of those things require the weather to agree with you though.

I'm a pure disaster bebo. I've done none of those things.

We should do a page of stuff for people to do in Sligo, have someone here o each thing and review it. Would make a great sticky for the sligo page.

It's not the place, it's who you learn with. They'll take you to the most suitable spots. Call Tom, local Sligo man. Best in the west.

He'll let you know if the kids are ready. Be prepared to have super fit, suntanned kids with blonde hair most of the year.

"Eagles Flying" It's between Tubbercurry and Ballymote. A bird sanctuary. Birds of prey, Eagles, owls, hawks, falcon, vulture.
They put on an entertaining show.
Host is a nice guy. Very witty.
Also have a little petting zoo.
Great day out. Well worth a look.
    We've been twice

I was reading your blog the other day about your trip to the deserted island off the coast of Rosses Point. Great stuff and I'm going to do that this summer.

Oh Inismurray? Cool place. There's quite a few things I haven't written up yet. Caves of Keash is one - well worth a visit.

Unsurprisingly given that I seem to have done nothing yet in Sligo, I've not been.
